 I love this cover until it breaks my $500 kindle August 16, 2010

I love my cover and kindle util it breaks my $500 device today. I read these reviews saying that it COULD break the kindle so I remember that and I open the cover carefully every time. Today, I opened it as usual. My Kindle simply fall under its own weight to the front, and my kindle breaks!
THAT IS A SHAME!!!!
The cover is suppose to protect the device instead of breaking it! Amazon's design is a total failure. You have to avoid this cover at any cost, no matter how pretty and high quality leather it has.
I NEVER SEE A COVER THAT BREAK THE CONTENT IT PRETECTS.
The cover should be put in the HALL OF SHAME of STUPID DESIGN OF THE YEAR !

This leather cover has been treated with a noxious substance (probably poisonous) that makes it smell to high heaven. I'm an asthma sufferer, so I have long ago placed the cover in my cellar. The good news is that after a couple of months it is almost bearable.

The magnetized cover makes for an extremely heavy Kindle DX. I'd suggest buying a suitable sleeve to protect the Kindle DX whilst it's in your bag or not being used. But this particular cover is no more than a brick in you briefcase.

The leather cover looks nice and functions well when reading too. Unfortunately it has a specific problem in attachment to Kindle DX, which makes it likely to break the plastic of the kindle. Therefore it cannot be used.

I found the black leather cover to be snappy and very protective of my Kindle books. It looks good, feels good in the hand and saves the Kindle from any damage. Highly recommended.
